It’s a manager’s worst nightmare. No control over who can pitch. This year in MLB, relief pitchers who come into the game MUST pitch to 3 hitters or to completion of the inning. No more lefty to lefty or righty to righty matchups for each hitter in a close game in the eighth inning. Relief pitchers better get outs.
And to Gabe Kapler: No more positional players pitching unless you’re into extra innings. Scott Kingery pitching comes to mind…
And that pitch clock – gone.
